Seniors Present on Their Diverse Practicum Experiences

The second annual Inter-Disciplinary Senior Practicum Luncheon took place on May 9 and featured students from Hellenic College’s Psychology & Human Development program and Business Management program. This year’s luncheon featured presentations by graduating students about their diverse but equally powerful experiences in the professional settings where they have served this semester.

Nicole Chetsas spoke about her work at the Theophany School, an Orthodox preschool and kindergarten. Diana Khalil and Kristen Karavantos-Love presented on their practicum at Bournewood Hospital, an acute psychiatric/addiction treatment facility. Dimitri Evangelatos talked about working with autistic children. Three other P/HD students presented on their capstone projects: Colin Barberg on his meta-analysis of music and the brain, Kamal Hourani on his proposal to study religious faith in the parents of CrossRoad participants, and Moriah Moody on the Orthodox Witness Program, a two-year spiritual pilgrimage that addresses spiritual, psychological, and religious social issues. Business Management students Nikolas Koulouris and Nicholas Likiardopoulos shared their experiences interning in the hospitality and tech industries, respectively.

Luncheon attendees, who included HCHC faculty and staff as well as students, also heard presentations by two representatives from Regis College, a leading Roman Catholic university near Boston, with which HCHC has a cross-registration agreement. Dr. Karen Miranda, Director of Graduate Counseling Programs at Regis, and Lisanne Hann, Partnership Specialist, discussed the exciting new networking opportunities offered to our P/HD students at Regis.
